Daniel Hannan and our reality

I wonder who would have the courage to say this to George W. Bush or Barack H. Obama?

I look forward to your comments.

  2. Very Articulate. The Brits seem to have a literary style that is very fluid, thought-provoking, and cutting (when it needs to be).

  3. I like to see that some people are not afraid to stand tall and speak up for what they see as incompatent leadership.
Also, at what point do the people have to blame themselves for the continued acceptance of their situation. We are the ones that have allowed our leaders to say one thing and then turn around and do the opposite with out any ramifications in regards to their false intentions and mis directions.
As I stated, I like to see that some members of leadership step up and speak the truth about what they see as misrepresentation, but the sad part is, there are billions of others who sit back and do nothing but complain while this continues to escilate.
We can all blame our leadership, but I blame myself. I blame myself for seeing the disdirections and yet not using my right to free speach to do anything about it.

  5. Did Gordan Brown respond to this?

  6. To answer my own question (in case anyone else is curious), an excerpt from Mr. Hannan's blog in the Telegraph:

"Last week, I attacked Gordon Brown for running the largest deficit in the developed world. According to Craig Murray, our former Ambassador to Uzbekistan, the PM was so angry that he asked whether the rules of the European Parliament could be changed to prevent such speeches being made again."

  7. That was impressive... I don't think anyone but an Englishman could do that... It takes a certain accent for it to sting like it did in that YouTube video. Professor Chambless would be good but it may not be the Boot of Justice in the rear of the oppressor like this man was.

  8. My favorite snippet: "You cannot carry on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorgement of the unproductive bit. You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt."
