Political and judicial positions are not supposed to be popularity contests. Her job is to be an unbiased purveyor of justice.

Having empathy and compassion has it's place in society but not by a "unbiased" judge who is supposed to be defending justice.Bardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15242462499940007634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439938886895118276.post-86151442305505344362009-06-04T11:20:48.753-07:002009-06-04T11:20:48.753-07:00I would like to ask a question, and please excuse ...I would like to ask a question, and please excuse my ignorance being only a two year student so far. Where exact ally do feelings come into play with legal rulings? If a woman hits me in her car while I am legally crossing the street is the judge to say I am not awarding you money sir because I feel bad because her kids were crying in the car at the time of the accident??? I was always told two things about the law, one it is blind, and two it is either yes or no, right or wrong. No grey area to be found. So back to my question, where do feelings belong in all of this??? What next, we lose the right to own guns because the Supreme Court Judge feels empathy for the person who gets shot while trying to kill his or her mate? Or is it the fact that feelings cannot be seen, but the repercussions of those feelings can? There is no place in law for feelings. To me that is the first step toward weakening those laws. We the people are supposed to make those laws, not the feelings of those appointed. To me this is just a ploy to make this individual seem like a mother figure. Well, we do not need a mother figure, we need someone who is going to listen when needed and take the words of those whom have written those laws before them "You know those guys and that old Constitution and Bill of Rights thing that our Government is stepping on everyday now" and stick to those words. Personally, when someone starts talking about government figures being warm, friendly and empathetic I get scared "and nauseous", because the good old boy network of our Governing body has NONE of those qualities. And rest assured that no figure in our Government regardless of how empathetic they are has our best intentions in mind. If they did we would all be driving a our new GM car, after all we all already paid for it. Maybe they should show some empathy regarding that!!!
I am David Huff angry AmericanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
