“To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.” — Thomas Jefferson, April 6, 1816

Finally found it on youtube through my TV and my wife and I watched it. Thank You. It was a great program and my wife likes TV biographies. I see there are some more books for me to read. I read The Road to Serfdom. Do you also recommend his final series Law, Legislation, and Liberty or something else of his?
ReplyDeleteAnything by Hayek is always useful! Have you read his biography?
ReplyDeleteNo, I have only read the one work of his. I used to be into biographies but after a few 700+ page tomes (like Sandburg's Lincoln) I decided to concentrate on more lucrative works like Tocqueville and others on your recommended reading list.
